7. COMPLICATIONS IN THE POST OP ICU

From CT surgery complications

The post operative period extends from completion of the cardiac surgical period and transport of the patient to the ICU. Reception of the postoperative patient to the ICU is a critical period and the stay in the ICU is determined by the rapidity of the patient being able to return to a physiological state or be safely discharged from the ICU to a lower level of medical and nursing care.
